Can’t Afford Marvel’s Avengers? Be Thor In GTA 5

If you’ve been dying to fight bad guys as the God of Thunder in Marvel’s Avengers but haven’t quite got the cash to afford it yet, you’re in luck. As it turns out, someone recently designed a GTA 5 mod that adds Thor into the game – except, given the fact it’s GTA we’re talking about, he’s not exactly an ideal superhero.

The mod was recently shared on YouTube, offering us a look at how the God of Thunder would fare in the mean streets of Los Santos. It’s still a work in progress – this particular video is the mod’s fourth development update – but it’s coming together pretty nicely.

What’s more, this version of Thor is the Endgame one, meaning that he’s got both Stormbreaker and Mjolnir at his beck and call. He can even toss Mjolnir up into the air and whack it across the map with Stormbreaker, getting about as much distance as Hulk would with an ordinary baseball. GTA 5 Thor is way overpowered.

Check out the GTA 5 Thor trailer in the video embedded below.

As you can see, Thor is causing an absolute ruckus in Los Santos. He’s calling down lightning for the laugh. At one point he rocks up to an ordinary businessman and clocks him in the head with Mjolnir for no reason whatsoever.

My favourite part, though, is when there’s nobody around and, upon realizing that there’s a car beside him, he just bashes it with his hammer. Then he shoots lightning at it, just for good measure. Honestly, I think Thor could get five stars in GTA in 10 seconds flat – but, as shown in the video, even the helicopters have nothing on him because technically he can fly as well. Except he also has lightning bolts to chuck at them.

The Thor mod is still a work in progress, but from the video it seems to be in a perfectly playable condition right now. So, if you can’t afford Marvel’s Avengers just yet but are dead keen to knock about with a lightning-infused hammer, it’s definitely worth your while to play as Thor in GTA 5 instead.

Also, you can try to be a good guy if you want, a bonafide superhero devoted to keeping the peace and protecting the weak. But that’s not very GTA 5, though, is it?
