You’ll soon be able to explore the galaxy from the comfort of your own home! (Like you could leave right now even if you wanted to.)
Action-simulation game, Nimbatus – The Space Drone Constructor, is set to leave its year-and-a-half stint in Steam Early Access and officially release in-full on May 14th, 2020, for PC, Mac, and Linux.
Boasting over 75 physically simulated parts that can be used to build custom space drones, fully destructible planets, and procedural weapons systems and tech trees – which look about as intricate and grandiose as it sounds – Nimbatus is a game that focuses on science and creativity, with players crafting drones to explore a procedurally generated galaxy while collecting resources and completing missions.
From the looks of it, ship designs seem to only be limited by your own imagination, especially in the game’s Sandbox mode. Survival and Competitive modes are also available, with the latter mode featuring brawls, races, and other adversary types of matches with other players’ creations.
Nimbatus began as a successful Kickstarter campaign in late 2017, and has since gone on to win multiple awards even before its official release, including the “Tencent Game Innovation” and a “GDC Best in Play.” If you are a fan of space engineering games, it would be a safe bet to imagine that you’ll probably enjoy Nimbatus – The Space Drone Constructor.
