Elden Ring: The Horrifying Contents Of Rennala’s Egg Have Finally Been Revealed

While the likes of Godrick and Melania continue to get a lot of the Elden Ring attention months after the game launched, Rennala hasn't been dissected quite as much. However, a deeper dive into one of The Lands Between's more intriguing bosses has revealed what's inside her egg, and it's just as horrifying as you'd expect.

When it comes to uncovering Elden Ring's deepest and darkest secrets, Zullie the Witch is probably the person you want to ask. The YouTuber is behind the discovery of what's inside Rennala's egg, publishing two videos regarding its contents (thanks, GameRant). The first peels back the egg's outer layer, showing some weird textures and what appear to be white bulbs inside. However, the creepiest and most intriguing discovery in the first video are the strands of hair.

Zullie then reveals via a second video that the cutscene version of Rennala's egg makes this whole mystery even creepier. It appears the strands of hair originally discovered belong to Juvenile Scholars. Three of them curled up like fetuses and crammed inside the egg. Smaller than a full-sized human and somewhat featureless. Either because they hadn't finished forming inside of Rennala's egg, or perhaps because they were scrapped prior to the game's launch and never finished.

As for why FromSoftware decided to remove the finer details of what's inside Rennala's egg from the finished version of Elden Ring is up for speculation. Zullie hypothesizes that it may have been a ratings issue, or perhaps that such an obvious nod to rebirth was a little much and the game's creators wanted to leave that particular corner of the game up for speculation and imagination.

It isn't the only Elden Ring egg that has been busted open and its contents revealed recently. Well, the other is technically a cocoon. A glitch rather than a deep dive shows Miquella awkwardly bursting out of his cocoon, potentially hinting that the dormant character will have a bigger role to play in any potential DLC, more hints at which surfaced last week.
