Elden Ring is a Soulsborne game through and through, even featuring summon signs like Demon's and Dark Souls. But it was missing one crucial feature—sound cues. With 1.05, you can now hear when a new sign pops up. Perfect for when you're browsing Twitter while you wait.
If you're lurking by a fog wall and a sign pops up behind you or in an adjacent room, you'll hear it, while this also makes Elden Ring a little more accessible for those who are visually impaired. Oddly enough, it was already a feature in older FromSoftware games, but it's back, along with a few other tweaks in this hefty 950MB update.
Several of the Bell Bearing items you can give to the Twin Maiden Husks now carry over to NG+ when liberated—Bone Peddler, Meat Peddler, Medicine Peddler, Gravity Stone Peddler, Smithing-Stone Miner's, Somberstone Miner's, Glovewort Picker's, and the Ghost-Glovewort Picker's.
Aside from that, FromSoftware also added an "emphasis to the choice of the Sacred Flask and several other options that can be strengthened in the grace menu", making it more intuitive when you fiddle with your magic and health potions.
Then there are the bug fixes in the update which are fairly standard, mostly focusing on weapon skills and equipment, but FromSoftware has also improved the "stability of online multiplayer between PS4 and PS5" while boosting loading times for Xbox Series X/S.
And for PC, any keyboard and mouse operations will count for the "press any button" prompt on the title screen, while a new icon has been added to the main menu which lets you exit the game directly. It's labelled "Return to Desktop." Perfect for a quick rage quit.
