It’s been a busy week for Epic Games as it launches two massive updates for Fortnite Battle Royale and Rocket League.
The first arrived for Fortnite Battle Royale with the addition of a new mode modelled on Among Us gameplay.
The Fortnite Among Us mode, named Imposters, challenges ten agents maintaining The Bridge to work out who among them are the two Impostors trying to overtake it.
In Fortnite’s version, Agents complete assignments, like calibrating chests and llamas, repairing the Battle Bus, and delivering Storm reports for analysis.
By completing these assignments, the eight agents can win the game, the other being to successfully vote out all Impostors and claim victory for IO.
“Work together to root out anyone masquerading as a fellow Agent, but trust nobody completely — anyone could be an Impostor,” a message from Epic Games explains.
“If you find a fellow Agent’s eliminated fragment, report it! Everyone will be teleported to The Bridge where you can inform Agents who you suspect might have betrayed the IO and vote them out.”
Meanwhile, those who have been chosen to fill the role of an Imposter has to take control of the bridge through a number of ways, including:
Disabling Assignments – Temporarily freeze progress on all Assignments, buying you precious time.
Teleport Players – Relocate all Agents and Impostors to somewhere else on The Bridge, covering your tracks.
Peely Party – For a short time, all Agents and Impostors look like Peely so you can blend in with the crowd.

Like Agents, Impostors will have a list of Assignments they can complete to earn everyone’s trust. Be cautious, though: for every Assignment you finish, you inch the Agents closer to their completion goal.
The game mode also includes voting your fellow players out and there’s a good chance it will prove popular among Fortnite fans.
Epic Games is also overseeing the release of a big new upgrade in Rocket League. While not quite as wide-ranging as adding Among Us to Fortnite, developer Psyonix will be adding 120FPS support for PS5 consoles.
This is happening on Wednesday, August 18, with Psyonix adding new options to the console version to improve performance at the expense of graphics.
The new “Video Quality” setting will be added within the Video Settings menu allowing players to select Quality or Performance modes. Here are the details for each setting:
Quality:
- 4K checkerboard resolution at 60 FPS with HDR
- HDR requires HDR10 compatible display and HDMI 2.0 cable or better
- 4K capable display required to experience 4K. If a 1080p display is used, the game will render at 1080p supersampled from 4K.
Performance:
- Game runs at 2688×1512 resolution (70% of full 4K) at 120 FPS with HDR
- Game UI runs in 4K checkerboard
- 4K capable display required to experience 4K UHD. If a 1080p display is used, the game will render at 1080p supersampled from 2688×1512
- HDR and 120 FPS require a compatible display, as well as Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 cable.
