Everything you need to know about Diablo 3 Season 26, coming later this week

The Diablo 3 Season 26 release date is coming very soon, introducing a whole host of new content for fans to enjoy on PC and console. Season 25 finally ended over the weekend and that means Blizzard are now preparing to launch their next season, known as 'The Fall of Nephalem'.

Whilst the new season update (Patch 2.7.3) is expected to be released on April 12, the next season of content won't be going live in-game until later this week, so we've still got a few days to go before everything gets underway.

Ahead of time you'll find a complete guide to the next Diablo 3 season, including what time it starts, the new class sets you can earn, the season theme and plenty more. Read on for everything you need to know.

When Does Diablo 3 Season 26 Start?

Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo 3 Season 26 will begin on April 15, at 5PM (PDT/CEST/KST) .

However, it's worth noting that typically in the past we've seen the release time for console players come slightly later than the North American PC release time. With this in mind, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch users could be waiting until 1am BST on April 16 for Season 26 to go live.

We'll be updating this page closer to launch when hopefully Blizzard provided more specific launch times on their support channels.

Diablo 3 Season 26 Theme Explained

As with every new season of Diablo 3 players have a brand new season theme, bringing new features for players to enjoy. With Season 26 Blizzard are doing something completely different by adding a brand new activity to the game called 'Echoing Nightmare’. Here's how Blizzard described the mode on their official blog:

"In the Echoing Nightmare, players will experience an intense, densely packed, increasingly challenging event that stretches their ability to stay in the fight as long as possible."

Essentially this sounds like a twist on the typical horde mode you might normally see in shooters, but obviously made to fit Diablo's hack-and-slash gameplay. Blizzard also confirmed that the difficulty scales as players progress in the Echoing Nightmare encounter. With each season of Diablo 3 lasting 3 months, this sounds like some excellent endgame content to keep players occupied for months on end.

As far as rewards go, players will earn the following when completing an Echoing Nightmare: EXP, Legendary Items, Blood Shards, Gems, and a new Legendary Gem, the Whisper of Atonement, which is used for Augmenting Ancient Legendary items.

What Are The Diablo 3 Season 26 Class Sets?

At the start of every season of Diablo 3 players are given a new selection of class sets to earn as potential rewards. Any player who completes chapters 2, 3 and 4 from the Season Journey will be rewarded with three new sets as part of Haedrigs Gift.

Each Gift contains a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore. Naturally the set you receive will depend entirely on the Class of the character you’re using when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character.

Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 26:

  • Barbarian – The Legacy of Raekor
  • Crusader – Armor of Akkhan
  • Demon Hunter – Embodiment of the Marauder
  • Monk – Inna’s Reach
  • Necromancer – Pestilence Master’s Shroud
  • Witch Doctor – Zunimassa’s Haunt
  • Wizard – Delsere’s Magnum Opus
