It looks like Xbox Series X/S users could finally get a chance to play Final Fantasy 7 Remake and its sequel Rebirth in 2024. The Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy enters its second phase next year, when FF7 Rebirth makes its PS5 debut on February 29, 2024. Similar to the original Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Rebirth will be exclusive to PlayStation for a set period of time. However, this period of exclusivity is much shorter than the last time, running for three months until the end of May. This means Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth could come to Xbox consoles as early as May 29. As a reminder, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth headlined Sony’s recent PlayStation State of Play event, where the release date was announced alongside a stunning gameplay trailer.
While an Xbox release is by no means a foregone conclusion, there’s a strong chance Microsoft could gain access to both games in the FF7 Remake saga once PlayStation exclusivity comes to an end.
The release of a bundle containing both games would make for an attractive package for Xbox users, and could be why Microsoft has decided to wait for an Xbox port.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer previously confirmed that Microsoft had been in talks with Square Enix about bringing more of its games to Xbox consoles.
Final Fantasy 14 is coming to Xbox in 2024, which has given fans hope that more Final Fantasy games are on the way.
The release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and its sequel would make Xbox more attractive to customers, and would continue to add momentum following the release of Xbox console exclusive Starfield.
As for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the upcoming action RPG will contain approximately 100 hours of gameplay. It’s so big that it will launch on two discs for PS5.
In addition to a more open-world environment for players to explore, the game will feature a variety of mini-games, a reworked battle system and additional characters.

Square Enix explains more: “After escaping from the dystopian city of Midgar, Cloud and his friends set out on a journey across the planet.
“New adventures await in a vibrant and vast world – sprint across grassy plains on a Chocobo and explore expansive environments.”
The “evolved” combat system includes new team-based combos, which can be accessed by deepening the relationships between characters.
Judging by the recent gameplay trailer (above), you’ll be able to capture and ride Chocobos, some of which will be able to fly.
