Five Nights At Freddy’s Movie Reportedly Recruits Jim Henson’s Creature Shop

It looks like Jim Henson's Creature Shop will be creating the animatronics for Blumhouse's Five Nights at Freddy's movie.

The Five Nights at Freddy's movie has been in a state of development hell for some time now, having spent the last few years swapping out directors and scripts. Further trouble has been caused by series creator Scott Cawthon having the final say on the film and then coming under fire after it was discovered that he had been donating to anti-LGBTQA+ charities and supporting Trump, causing him to resign from the gaming industry for good.

Despite having had years of trouble, it looks like the Five Nights at Freddy's movie is now ramping up production and in a much better place. Jason Blum, the founder of Blumhouse Productions, shared a Tweet earlier today that hints that Jim Henson's Creature Shop is working on the film in some capacity, likely on the animatronics.

Blum shared a picture with the caption, "It's great to be working with Jim Henson's Creature Shop. Their experience and expertise with animatronics is absolutely killer". The photo shows someone sitting at a workshop designing something, while a small statue of Freddy Fazbear sits to the left of him.

The statue is unfinished but is clearly of Freddy Fazbear thanks to the telltale microphone in his hands and bowtie on his neck, as well as the general design of his torso and lower body. Interestingly, the sculpture of one of his feet that is lying around the model is painted green, while Freddy's usual design is brown. It's likely something to do with production, and not a reflection of his design in the movie.

Although the tweet just shows someone working on small-scale models of Freddy Fazbear, it's likely that Jim Henson's Creature Shop is helping design the actual animatronics for the film, as Blum specifically mentions their "experience and expertise with animatronics", something that has been proven time and time again in the past with films like Labyrinth and the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
