Fortnite’s map now has a big panther statue in honour of Black Panther, which further indicates he’ll be getting his own skin.
Fortnite’s current Marvel-themed season allows players to enjoy the battle royale as one of several iconic and beloved heroes and villains.
So far, this includes the likes of Wolverine, Dr. Doom, and She-Hulk, though hopefully today’s update is an indicator that the king of Wakanda will drop in soon.
Fortnite’s map is already dotted with multiple locales dedicated to specific characters, like Dr. Doom’s castle, and now a Black Panther-related monument called Panther’s Prowl has been included.
The monument’s inclusion comes during a time when people are still grieving over the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman, who took on the role of Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with 2016’s Captain America: Civil War.
If you’re eager to see it for yourself, it’s on top of a hill to the west of Misty Meadows. It’s pretty big so it should be easy to spot.
What’s more, there’s loot scattered around the area and a chest placed inside of the panther’s mouth.
A recent leak also points towards Black Panther being added as a skin, courtesy of reputable Fortnite leaker HYPEX, who says that he’ll also come with his own unique abilities.
One of these abilities, Kinetic Absorption, will allow Black Panther to absorb damage and then direct it back as an explosion, much like what he could do in the movies.
Fortnite is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
