The world of Genshin Impact is ever-growing because of the regular additions to the roster of characters in the game. Every character released to the game has multiple differentiating factors like their abilities, weapon, vision, lore, etc. This allows players to find their comfort character and enjoy strolling around in Teyvat.

Layla is a four-star character with a Cryo vision. She belongs to the Rtawahist Darshan of the Akademiya, which is one of the different subjects taught at the place. It turns out that she has a sleeping disorder, and her abilities are based on that as well.

Layla's Ascension Materials

For a character that is sleep-deprived and can't do a lot of physical activities, Layla sure gives players a run for her Ascension Materials. All of her materials are scattered across Teyvat, and here's what you'll be looking for to ascend this character:

The Mora mentioned above is the requirement specifically for ascending Layla multiple times. For being able to ascend a character, you need to reach the maximum level for the previous ascension. This requires you to send some more Mora and EXP material.

You can also get some character EXP by defeating mobs around the world, but it's not significant enough at later stages. You need over 200 Hero's Wits to fully ascend a character to level 90.

Where To Find Shivada Jade Crystal

There are seven elements in Genshin Impact, and the entire combat relies on these elements. There's a dedicated crystal counterpart for each of them that is used in the ascension of characters holding a vision for a specific element. For Layla, the Cryo crystals are known as the Shivada Jade.

There are quite a few ways to get Shivada Jade Sliver, Fragment, Chunk, and Gemstone in the game: World Bosses, Weekly Bosses, and limited-time events. As the name suggests, you can only claim rewards from Weekly Bosses once a week, and most of them don't have a guaranteed chance of dropping Shivada Jade.

Moreover, the limited-time events don't give you a lot of crystals either. In one of the main events, you get around six fragments for each crystal. While you can get Shivada Jade from limited-time events, it's an unreliable way.

So, World Bosses are going to be your major source for these crystals. Here's every boss you can do to have a chance of getting some of these:

• Cryo Regisvine (Mondstadt World Boss)
• Primo Geovishap (Liyue World Boss)
• Cryo Hypostasis (Dragonspine World Boss)
• Maguu Kenki (Inazuma World Boss)
• Perpetual Mechanical Array (Inazuma World Boss)
• Bathysmal Vishap Herd (Enkanomiya World Boss)
• Aeonblight Drake (Sumeru World Boss)

If you have a surplus of another type of crystal that you don't need, you can convert them to Shivada Jade using the Alchemy Table at any region. This requires Dust of Azoth, a commodity that can only be bought from the Stardust Exchange in Paimon Shop.

Where To Find Nilotpala Lotus

If you've farmed the local specialties for any other Sumeru characters, you know how hard these things are to find. Nilotpala Lotus is one of these specialties that can only be found in Sumeru, but it's scattered all across the region. This forces you to teleport to different points just to get three to four of them.

These lotuses can be found in the water bodies across Sumeru Rainforest. It's important to note that you won't get any of these in the Desert area. There are a few ways to make this process a little easier, but you might have to pay for it:

• Tighnari has a passive that allows you to sense nearby local specialties in Sumeru when you have the character in your party. You can head to the locations circled on the map above and Tighnari will show you the lotuses nearby.
• Sumeru's archon can make the process of gathering these items a lot easier. You can hold Nahida's Elemental Skill and aim at the lotuses to get them instantly once you're done using the Skill.

Local specialties in Genshin Impact have a 48-hour respawn timer. After you get all the lotuses in these areas once, you'll have to wait for two days to farm them again. Since you can't get all 168 lotuses required to fully ascend Layla in one day, you'll have to do multiple runs.

Where To Find Divine Scrolls, Sealed Scrolls, and Forbidden Curse Scrolls

There are a bunch of Hilichurl enemies that are scattered all across Teyvat. Samachurls are the mages of Hilichurls, and they can usually be found in groups near the Hilichurl camps. Defeating one of these enemies normally drop one or two Divine Scrolls, and you get a Sealed Scroll or Forbidden Curse Scroll if you're lucky.

You can also craft a certain rarity of the scroll by using three of the lower rarity at the Alchemy Table. If you've been playing Genshin Impact for a while, you might already have enough Scrolls required for Layla's ascension and talents.

Where To Get Perpetual Caliber

With the release of Version 3.1, Hoyoverse released a World Boss known as Aeonblight Drake located in Sumeru Rainforest. You can acquire one to three Perpetual Calibers every time you defeat this boss. You require a total of 46 of these items to fully ascend Layla.

You can't get rewards from World Bosses after simply defeating them. A flower spawns after the fight that can be revitalized using 40 Original Resin, and you'll get Perpetual Caliber after that along with some other rewards. You can't use Condensed Resin to collect these rewards.

You need to unlock the map of Sumeru if you want to have an easier time reaching this boss. Use the Teleport Waypoint in Devantaka Mountains and interact with the Dendro flower to spawn grapples that will lead you directly to the entrance of Aeonblight Drake's ruins. Once you're there, you can place a Portable Teleport Waypoint to make access easier.

Layla's Talent Materials

Ascending a character isn't enough to reach their maximum potential, you also need to upgrade their talents to get higher multipliers on their abilities. There are a total of three talents that can be upgraded up to level ten, and here's everything you'll need for each of them:

The materials mentioned above are the requirements to level up one of Layla's talents to level ten. If you want to level up all three of her talents, you'll need to use thrice the materials.

You can get Ingenuity talent books by farming the Steeple of Ignorance domain and collecting the rewards on Tuesday, Friday, or Sunday. This domain is located on the northern side of the Sumeru Rainforest, and you can farm a total of three different types of talent books in it.

Furthermore, Mirror of Mushin can be acquired after defeating Scaramouche Weekly Boss. To unlock this boss, players are required to finish the main storyline of Sumeru until the fifth act. Mirror of Mushin is one of the three drops that you can get from the boss.

On the last talent level upgrade, you'll need to use a Crown of Insight. These are rare commodities, and you only get one on each update, unless there's a new region.
