Arataki Itto is a character in Genshin Impact, a popular free-to-play mobile and console game, who has a very interesting skill. His defense provides a boost to his damage output, so an optimal build for him centers around being able to boost his defensive rating since it will both make him hard to take down, but also allow him to dish out additional damage.
His primary element is geo and his weapons of choice are the giant swords known as claymores. The weapons at the top of this list are much more synergistic but give Itto any claymore and he'll likely do enough damage to come out victorious.
7 Blackcliff Slasher
The Blackcliff Slasher, a four-star weapon, doesn't feel like the type of claymore Arataki Itto would prefer but it's hard to overlook what it provides its wielder. In addition to the 12 percent increase in critical damage, it also rewards aggressive playstyles. This weapon can be obtained via Paimon's Bargains Starglitter Exchange.
For every kill, the attack on the weapon is increased by 12-24 percent for 30 seconds. It can stack up to three total times and the duration of each stack coincides with the previous ones.
6 The Unforged
The Unforged is an ironic name for a weapon considering it must go through a forging process to even exist. This five-star rarity claymore makes up for its odd name with pretty strong effectiveness out on the battlefield. It increases shield strength by 20-40 percent and scoring hits on enemies provides a 4-8 percent attack boost for eight total seconds.
The neat thing is that if the user is protected by a shield it boosts the attack increase effect by 100 percent. A weapon that makes protecting a character turn into more damage output helps teach you how to manage abilities and why sometimes shielding and buffing lend themselves to increased damage output. The Unforged has seen its drop-rate boosted in two different Event Wishes, which seems like the highest chance avenue to obtain it.
5 Skyward Pride
Skyward Pride is a weapon that looks like it was pulled straight out of a Legend of Zelda game, which makes its name rather appropriate. It also doesn't hold back as a five-star claymore that can be obtained via Wishes, but it's good to understand that it has seen a drop-rate boost in two different Event Wishes in the 2021 calendar year.
Once the person holding this weapon does either a normal or charged attack or even an Elemental Burst, a vacuum blade is created. This blade does 80-160 percent of attack as damage to any opponent falling in its path. This trigger lasts for either 20 seconds or until eight vacuum blades have been created and thrust forward.
4 Wolf's Gravestone
Wolf's Gravestone is a five-star claymore that doesn't do much when it comes to synergizing with Arataki Itto's ability, but it is a solid weapon regardless of that. It increases the user's attack by 20-40 percent and when it hits an opponent under 30 percent health it increases the party's attack by 40-80 percent.
So, even though it doesn't scale based on defense it still manages to make Itto's attacks stronger and also functions as a buff for the rest of his team. It saw its drop-rate increase in two different Epitome Invocation Event Wishes, so that might be the time and place where it is most easily obtainable.
3 Whiteblind
Whiteblind in terms of being a good weapon choice for Arataki Itto is pretty straightforward. The four-star weapon's built-in ability is that, on hit, both normal and charged attacks increase the user's attack and defense by six percent for six seconds. Whiteblind can be forged with one Northlander Claymore Billet, 50 crystal chunks, and 50 white iron chunks.
Since Itto's damage output scales with his defense, this means that he essentially gets a double buff in terms of damage output and turns Whiteblind into something amazing to wield. It may not look as cool as the Serpent Spine or the Redhorn Stonethresher, but it's a stellar claymore in its own right.
2 Serpent Spine
The Serpent Spine is a four-star claymore that provides a solid buff during the battle but comes at the price of inflicting damage on its wielder. Because Arataki Itto is a character built and designed around his defense, this means he has what it takes to wield this claymore. Those who purchase the Gnostic Hymn package for the Battle Pass can obtain the Serpent Spine once they reach level 30.
The six percent buff he would get to his damage for every four seconds he's in battle is worth the three percent more damage he would take simply due to how resistant his optimal build is to damage. It's a weapon that doesn't seem worth it at first, but once you understand the characters that are meant to wield it, the picture becomes much clearer. Itto was made to wield the Serpent Spine, and it was made to be wielded by such a warrior.
1 Redhorn Stonethresher
It's hard to find a weapon that perfectly fits Arataki Itto and his abilities the way that the Redhorn Stonethresher does. This five-star weapon increases the user's defense by 28 percent and both normal and charged attack damage with it is increased by 40 percent of the user's defense. Getting your hands on it will be difficult as it is only available in Weapon Event Wishes, so you'll need all the luck you can foster in order to have Itto equipped with the Redhorn Stonethresher.
The synergy this has with Itto's ability to scale his damage output based on his defense makes it his ultimate weapon to wield. It also doesn't hurt that the Redhorn Stonethresher is an amazing-looking claymore that packs as much punch visually as it does physically. When it comes to providing Itto with the best weapon possible, you must do everything in your power to get your hands on this weapon.
