God Of War: Where To Find The Historian Treasure

Collectibles in God of War are scattered throughout the game. These collectibles are essential to locate, as most give more details on the lore of the game. Treasures give loot and materials that you can use to upgrade your gear. The different collectibles also have trophies on PlayStation, which most players go for if they want the Platinum trophy.

You'll need to find all 12 treasures in order to get the “Trophy Hunter” trophy. So if you've got a completionist itch to scratch, you'd best get to hunting. But in order to find the treasure, you'll need to nab the map first. Let's get to it.

Where To Find The Historian Treasure Map

You will have to make your way to the Ruins of the Ancient in the Lake of Nine. Here, you can find a chest on the left side of where you dock your boat. In the middle of the Ruins, you can find the treasure map lying on the ground.

The map will appear in the Goals tab under the Treasure map sub-tab. The next thing you need to do is to find the treasure.

Location of The Historian Treasure

The treasure map in your inventory will read as follows:

"I wished to make a contribution to Fafnir’s collection of relics. I arrived to find the door locked and Reavers blocking the way I came. I quickly buried my treasure and hid as fast as I could. If I manage to escape, I’ll return to this spot."

The clue hints at Fafnir’s collections, which leads you to Fafnir’s Storeroom. This area will be accessible during the “Fafnir’s Hoard” Favor. Before entering the temple, go to your left through the forest to see a staircase. The staircase will lead you to a room with the two statues, as shown in the treasure map. Pick up the buried treasure near the left statue.

Collecting the treasure will get you one Eternal Frost, Legendary Enchantment, 5,000 Hacksilver, and 30 Aegir’s Gold.
