Yesterday, Guerilla Games treated us to Horizon Forbidden West’s story while also introducing us to several new characters. Today, we get to find out just who are the names and faces behind their digital avatars in the Forbidden West.
Guerilla Games’ new “Meet the Cast” video showcases Horizon Forbidden West’s big stars. Many of them are returning from the first game, such as Ashley Burch, Lance Reddick, John McMillan, and John Hopkins. Forbidden West will feature two new stars, including Carrie-Anne Moss and Noshir Dalal.
"I play this very interesting character named Tilda who's quite a dynamic character," reveals Carrie-Anne Moss while also showcasing the face-scanning technology employed by Guerilla Games. Tilda is a mysterious new figure in Forbidden West who could be anything from a living Old One to a holographic representation of an AI.
"There's a lot of mystery to her–I don't want to say too much, but she's an interesting character," Moss said. "I loved playing her."
Noshir Dalal plays the Tenakth warrior Kotallo who allies with Aloy on her journey through the Forbidden West. Unlike many of the Tenakth, Kotallo wants to end the fighting between the three tribes.
"Kotallo's chief has come to a vision of a better future where instead of constantly fighting against each other, [they] come together in a form of peace so that everyone can live together," Dalal said. "Kotallo's primary mission is to champion his chief's cause and see if he can rally the tribes together."
Burch, Reddick, McMillan, and Hopkins all expressed joy at returning to their roles and even experiencing some of the upgraded technology that allowed them to act out scenes in the same studio. Called "The Volume," this gray space allowed special cameras to scan each character's motions into Forbidden West–something that Hopkins believes greatly improves the game.
Check out the trailer above for more, and don't skip yesterday's story trailer to get a feel for where Aloy is headed in the sequel. Horizon Forbidden West arrives on PlayStation on February 18.
