Jane Foster, the Mighty Thor, is rumoured to be the next hero coming to Marvel's Avengers.
It's been some time since Marvel's Avengers was last updated with a new hero, with Spider-Man coming to PlayStation back in November and Black Panther all the way back in August. With more content and characters promised to be coming in the future, all Marvel's Avengers players can do is wait for an official announcement.
Although that's not yet happened, reliable leaker Miller has reported that the next character to be added to the game is Jane Foster, the Mighty Thor. It was previously believed that She-Hulk might be the next hero coming to the game, but Miller reports that she's been delayed to match the release window for her upcoming show.
Miller said, "I look forward to seeing Crystal Dynamics' interpretation of Jane Foster. A strong Season 2 for Marvel's Avengers is on the horizon, and direct synergy with Thor: Love and Thunder's impending marketing campaign is a compelling kickoff."
As Miller points out, it seems that Square Enix has learnt its lesson with character releases and is trying to draw some extra hype by lining up the Mighty Thor's release with the marketing for Thor: Love and Thunder. Players previously pointed out that it would have been clever to add Scarlet Witch or the Winter Soldier alongside the release of their shows.
In regards to the release of She-Hulk, he said, "I do believe She-Hulk was pushed from Q4 2021 (which, as I understand, they were on-track to meet) in relative alignment with her eponymous Disney+ series' delay… This consequently caused a larger than anticipated stretch of time without major new hero-focused content updates. Any content filling that void would have to be created on an expedited schedule and not disrupt the still ongoing narrative. Enter the echo character."
From Miller's wording, it seems like Jane Foster will play very similarly to Thor, but with a few different moves, similarly to how Hawkeye and Kate Bishop play the same. She-Hulk will presumably also play similarly to Hulk, although that's not quite as close a comparison.
