The box art for WWE 2K22 has leaked online, along with pre-order details including a three-day early access period.
2K has been rather quiet regarding WWE 2K22, with very little information shared ever since last April’s teaser trailer. While it is remaining tight-lipped, further details appear to have leaked online, including the game’s box art.
Nils Ahrensmeier, a writer for German outlet TechnikNews, shared the game’s box art on Twitter, confirming two different covers for the standard and deluxe editions of the game.
Both only feature Rey Mysterio, which isn’t all that surprising considering he was the first wrestler confirmed for the game and the star of the initial teaser trailer.
Speaking of pre-order bonuses, pre-ordering the deluxe edition or the nWo 4-Life Edition (of course there’s a third edition) nets you the Undertaker Immortal Pack.
Ahrensmeier says it comes with ‘three additional Undertaker personas: Phantom Mask Undertaker, Lord of Darkness Undertaker, Boneyard Match Undertaker, MyFACTION EVO cards for Undertaker, and MyFACTION Perks and Bonuses.’
This could mean the Undertaker will be a pre-order exclusive playable character, unless 2K also plans on selling him separately.
The WWE 2K22 Undertaker Immortal Pack is included in the WWE 2K22 Deluxe Edition and WWE 2K22 nWo 4-Life Edition
While some details still need to be extrapolated upon, 2K can be expected to officially share them soon. Back when it confirmed a March release window and shared the first gameplay footage last August, it promised a larger announcement for January.
Expectations are high for WWE 2K22. The disastrous launch and reception for WWE 2K20 led to 2K skipping WWE 2K21 so that it could dedicate more time to this year’s game.
This means there was no mainline entry in 2020 or 2021, although 2K did release the more cartoony and arcade-like WWE 2K Battlegrounds in the interim.
WWE 2K22 releases in March for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
