The new Warzone Caldera map is coming this week, and the Call of Duty team at Activision has confirmed when the big Pacific will be available to play.

As confirmed earlier, COD fans who own Vanguard will get early access to the map, which will last 24-hours.

This is a unified release plan, affecting all gamers across PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X and PC platforms.

During the Caldera early access period, free-to-play Warzone players will be able to play Rebirth Island.

A message from Activision warns that anyone who wants to use the Vanguard early access will need to buy the game before December 8.

Digital copies of Vanguard come with immediate access to Caldera during its 24-hour exclusivity period, while those who purchase a physical version must install and boot Vanguard and get past the initial interactive screen to gain access to this Warzone Pacific event.

The launch of the new Warzone Caldera map also coincides with the joint first season with Call of Duty Vanguard, which includes fresh weapons and rule changes.

The Ghost perk is being nerfed, meaning its usefulness is being dialled back, and load-outs will not be available to buy straight away.

Instead, Raven Software will make gamers wait until the first ones drop from the sky before another loadout drop can be bought.

WHEN DOES THE NEW CALDERA MAP COME OUT?

The new Call of Duty Warzone Caldera map release date will start with an early access period on Wednesday, December 8.

The early access release time has been scheduled for 9am PDT on December 8 and will last 24-hours.

This means that everyone else will have to wait until December 9 at 9am PDT to play Call of Duty Warzone Pacific.

Call of Duty Warzone: Activision teases latest update

A message from Activision explains: “Rise on a new front and discover this secret in Season One of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone Pacific, a massive island-sized introduction to another incredible year for Call of Duty — complete with free weapons, maps, Operators, and more content, especially for Vanguard owners.

“Season One will begin on December 8, following updates to Vanguard and Warzone. Vanguard’s update is scheduled for December 6 at 9 PM PT. Warzone will schedule its update for when it shuts down its servers from December 7 at 9 PM PT to December 8 at 9 AM PT to prepare for Warzone Pacific.

“For the first time in Call of Duty history, players will receive not just two, but three free functional weapons in a seasonal Battle Pass system. And later this season, a new SMG and an additional melee weapon will grant players some great CQB options after completing their respective challenges or getting their hands on one of their Weapon Blueprints.”

It should also be noted that there will be a large Warzone update to download on December 8 for all gamers, no matter what time you gain access to the new map.

Raven Software has not shared how big this download will be, but there is a good chance it will be huge.

It’s unclear if the new Pacific map will enlarge the total size of the game, which is an issue Raven has been working on.
