The latest Nintendo Direct is only a couple of hours away, and while we're expecting big news on games like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and the possibility of a new 3D Mario, there are sure to be a few surprises sprinkled in as well. Unfortunately, one of those surprises was leaked ahead of time, as a new Samba de Amigo game is apparently in development with a release date of June 30.
This is according to a leaker on Twitter called SnoopyTech, who has shared the title of the game, several high-quality screenshots, and extra details including the number of songs and retail price. According to this leak, Samba de Amigo: Party Central will launch with 40 "hits songs" included from a variety of genres, with more arriving as post-launch DLC.
The game will also apparently include both online and local multiplayer that will let you play with up to 7 friends, customize your character with fun little outfits and accessories, and will be exclusive to Nintendo Switch consoles. It's also expected to launch for around $39.99, although whether the title will be available physically as well as digitally is unknown.
In case this is the first time you're hearing about the series, Samba de Amigo is a rhythm game that was originally developed by Sonic Team for arcade machines and the Dreamcast. It's unknown who the developer of Samba de Amigo: Party Central will be this time around though, as it's possible Sega could have brought in a different developer since Sonic Team was likely busy with Sonic Frontiers at the time of development.
We won't have to wait long to find out though, as the latest Nintendo Direct kicks off in just a couple of hours. It promises another look at The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, as well as the chance of a Metroid 4 reveal if a recent Amazon listing is anything to go by.
