New World server queue times remain a problem for the influx of gamers trying to explore Aeternum this week.
The good news is that fresh worlds and support have been deployed by Amazon, which has been trying to keep up with massive demand.
Steam charts revealed that New World servers were trying to place up to 750K concurrent players at one point, a task that only top games on the platform have to deal with.
And like with any big launch, there have been New World server status issues that have left some paying customers frustrated.
But on the positive side, all of the delays and release date changes seems to have put Amazon in the best possible position to handle the flood of gamers, with one fan pointing out online:
“I hate to break it to everyone, but this is the best release for an MMO that I’ve ever seen.
“The fact that they are already implementing server transfers to help more and more people be with their friends is amazing. I’m already loving this game but it makes me super excited for the future.”
“I’m really appreciating the transparency with this. Sure they underestimate the popularity of the game, but they’ve been pretty good at communicating how they plan on fixing it.”
Another adds: “Server size is limited because everyone starts in the same areas. unless you want another 6k people stealing your kills and harvestables we have to wait until players are more spread across the map before they let more in.”
And the good news is that Amazon is looking to launch some big changes very soon which could make everything run smoother.
A new statement from the New World team confirms that character transfers are coming to the game.

And in a new update, it has been confirmed that New World server transfers could be ready by next week.
The full statement can be found below and covers all the latest news regarding New World server status and what is being done to make everything run better:
“It’s been an incredible week of growth for the New World community. The demand we’ve seen has been staggering and we continue to be humbled by the number of players that want to explore Aeternum together.
“While it was certainly our aspiration to welcome massive numbers of players into the game during launch week, we were frankly surprised by just how many adventurers washed up on Aeternum’s shores.
“Over a million players entered New World on launch day. Each day after launch that number has increased, translating into long queue times for some of our more popular worlds.
“Since our launch on Tuesday, we have more than doubled the number of servers and we are working to increase the capacity of all available servers to support a higher population cap. Our team has been working around the clock to add as many servers as we can and will continue to do so until we stabilize wait times.
“While we do that work, there are options to get into the game quickly. If you are a player logging in for the first time, forty per cent of our live servers have low or no wait times. We encourage you to seek those servers out and get playing.
“We are also working hard on a feature that will allow you to transfer your characters to a different server, so if you choose one now just to get up and playing, you can make a different choice later to play on a server with your friends. Our goal is to release this feature next week, once we’ve thoroughly tested it and are sure it’s ready.
“Prior to its release, we will provide detailed information on how the transfer process works. We know how important it is to be able to play with friends, so we’re putting this feature at the top of our priority list.”
