The One Piece Card Game is making waves in the hearts of One Piece fans and fans of competitive card games altogether. Even though the game is still quite infant, and the card pool is limited, the game is balanced incredibly. No one deck feels oppressive enough to turn off new players and the game offers enough outlet for seasoned card veterans to showcase their deck-building skills using creative decks with ingenious tools to set up threatening boards.

10/10 Trafalgar Law
Trafalgar Law, stat-wise, is a powerful card. A five DON!! cost with a 6,000 attack and blocker alone is good enough for what it's worth, but the added bonus of its bouncing ability, similar to Law's Op-Op Fruit in the manga, makes this card a must in every green or multicolored red/green deck.
Combined with cards like the three-cost Zoro from Romance Dawn, which can be swapped out with a small unit that has already activated its "On Play" effect, can be quite deadly in the right situation.
9/10 Roronoa Zoro
One of the best cards in red in the Romance Dawn set. This Zoro cast is not only aggressive, but it is also versatile. The One Piece Card Game limits deck building to whatever color Leader card you decide to use and with the Romance Dawn the only dual-color introduced being Red/Green and Blue/Purple, it means that Zoro can be used in two of the best decks in the OP-01 format.
Not only is using Zoro in his own color in Red extremely strong since its Rush keyword gives even more aggro that the deck loves, but its cost only being three means that the Red/Green Leader Trafalgar Law and the Green Trafalgar can both play Zoro for free with their effects of returning a character to the hand.
8/10 Nami
With Red Zoro being one of the best decks in the format at the moment and most of the Red cards being Straw Hat Crew cards, Nami being the best card in Romance Dawn is a given. Her powerful search ability not only does it let you search the top five cards of your deck for a Straw Hat that you might need, whether it's a counter for defense, or Luffy for some Rush plays, but she can also grab an event card like Gum-Gum Jet Pistol for an easy removal card since Jet Pistol is a Straw Hat Crew card.

7/10 Otama
Red decks, like in many card games, center their strategy around aggression. While other decks take turns to set up a board with removal effects like in the Kid deck or activate a myriad of abilities to ramp up resources in the early game like Kaido, Red tends to have a single game plan to hit hard and fast.
Otama helps the Red strategy since the deck doesn't offer much removal, besides a few Event cards like Gum-Gum Jet Pistol, by lowering the power of a character of your choosing, making big blockers like Queen easier to get through.
6/10 Kaido
Purple decks have a unique play style in the One Piece Card Game. Using costly cards like Kaido or even King might seem kind of daunting at first, especially with how much slower the One Piece Card Game is compared to others, but with Purple's main gimmick to ramp up the deck by using abilities to bring out more than your usual two-per-turn DON!!, you can have an end game board by turn four.
Kaido is the biggest playmaker within its own deck, compared to crucial Yu-Gi-Oh!staples like Nibiru or Lightning Storm, Kaido allows the play to wipe the entire board of characters with only himself left standing. Although he cannot attack the turn he is played, Kaido is a massive 12,000-power character that will require an answer once he is played.
5/10 Boa Hancock
Just like every card game ever created, card draw is one of the most important things in the One Piece Card Game. Due to the Counter system, card draw in this game is a bit limited and when it is available outside a draw phase it is either quite costly in the DON!! department or it requires a certain condition to be met like hand size or characters on board.

4/10 Donquixote Doflamingo
All the Leader cards found in Romance Dawn are a great starting point for building your deck, but the Doflamingo Leader is a bit different. The only other leader in the blue category of cards is Crocodile, and while he is a great Leader card, he falls in comparison to what Doflamingo can do with the same pool of cards.
While Crocodile tends to focus on the Baroque Works archetype and play a more toolbox-oriented style of deck, Doflamingo's Warlords of the Sea are constantly swarming the board with his ability to reveal the top card of the deck and if it is a Warlord that costs four or less, you can play it for free. Doflamingo puts up constant pressure on your opponent that Alabasta's main antagonist cannot match.
3/10 Dracule Mihawk
The biggest advantage that Blue has to offer as a color archetype in the One Piece Card Game is it can control the board with oppressive bounce and stun effects during the early and mid-game, but that means the late game is where blue really struggles.
Luckily, Romance Dawn introduces the nine-cost Dracule Mihawk. With a powerful effect that can spin any character that is a cost of seven or less, combined with a whopping 9,000 power, Mihawk can become a huge threat for blue to end games quickly.
2/10 Yamato
Just like the color blue, green tends to be more control-oriented, but in its own way: By resting your opponent's characters and beating over them. Green also doesn't have a lot of options when it comes to the top end of cards to close out the game, but with cards like Yamato, winning games can be easily done and with a bit of flare to boot.
Yamato, not only has Double Attack, but the card also has the Banish keyword, so for the two damage that he'll do, if there were any triggers to activate in the Life cards, they simply will not activate, keeping your characters safe from any pesky cards like Punk Gibson.
1/10 Eustass "Captain" Kid
Hands down, the best card in Green included in Romance Dawn. Kid's utility and raw strength are unmatched by his green counterparts. An 8,000 body that forces your opponent to attack him only and that can generate you board presence while keeping the aggression with leftover DON!!.
Not only is this version of Kid mandatory in the Kid deck, but its versatility is so vast that it can be used as a top-end in every deck available for Green in Romance Dawn.
