Pokemon Fans Are Suggesting ‘Mons For The 9 Unused Type Combinations

Pokemon fans are a creative bunch. When they're not making ROM hacks and bestiality fan fiction that they'd better be prepared to read aloud in front of the pearly gates (you know the Vaporeon one I mean), they're coming up with cool 'mons that could capitalise on some unused type combinations. That's right, over 1,000 Pokemon and we've still not seen nine different type combinations yet.

The still unused types are: Normal/Ice, Normal/Bug, Normal/Rock, Normal/Steel, Fire/Fairy, Ice/Poison, Ground/Fairy, Bug/Dragon, and Rock/Ghost. A fast Ice/Poison-type would be an offensive powerhouse, able to do STAB Super Effective damage to both Dragon and Fairy-types.

One fantastic suggestion for a Rock/Ghost-type is "a bunch of gravel. It's Geodude post self-destruct." 10/10, no notes. Someone responded that they're shocked this isn't an evolution method yet. We've already got Pokemon who evolve once they learn a certain move, or Mega-Evolve when they use one, so why not have a standard evolution based on a move too?

For an Ice/Poision-type, one player suggested an ancient plague trapped in ice. That's… dark. It makes perfect sense, as there's a lot trapped in the ice we don't yet know about, but it might be best not to poke that bear, even in Pokemon. A suggested ability would be "If hit by a fire move, it thaws and poisons all active Pokémon."

For a Normal/Bug-type, someone reckons GameFreak will phone it in and use "just a png of an actual caterpillar," and it'll be called Justabug. And before you go saying there's no chance that would ever happen, remember, "We have a seal called seel."

A great suggestion for a Normal/Ice-Type is an Arcitc fox, but that may already be a role filled by Galarian Vulpix. Someone else added that the Beartic line would have been a solid Normal/Ice choice. Some sort of Phoenix was suggested for the Fire/Fairy-Type, but both Ho-Oh and Moltres already sort of cover that design.

There are loads more great suggestions in the original Reddit thread, so be sure to have a look through and maybe suggest your own.
