Pokemon Go is hosting a new in-game event this month, this time centering around Electric-type Pokemon. In addition to this, this event, titled the Crackling Voltage Event, will make several unique bonuses and features available if you participate.

This in-game event will be available for about a week's time, taking place from Friday, January 27 at 10am local time to Sunday, February 5, at 11:59pm local time. There is a lot to know about this event, including multiple smaller events that take place within Crackling Voltage's event window, so we've put together a guide with everything you need to know.

This will be the first time that Tapu Koko will have the chance of being Shiny, being one of the Five-Star Raid Pokemon during this event window.

Additionally, you will have a higher chance of encountering the Shiny form of Helioptile when encountered as a reward following this Pokemon's defeat in One-Star Raids.
