Pokemon Legends Arceus: The 10 Strongest Bug Pokemon

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is undeniably a long-overdue change in the typical Pokemon RPG formula. Catching Pokemon has never been so interactive and hands-on. Not only does the real-time catching mechanics reinvigorate the franchise, but it's home to hundreds of familiar faces and fan favorites.

If you fancy yourself one particular type or like to round out your team with a menagerie of types, Legends: Arceus has got you covered. Bug catchers have been part of the franchise since the very beginning, and here you can walk in their shoes. Some may find them repulsive, and some find them cute; nonetheless, here are the strongest Bug-type Pokemon to be found in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

10 Beautifly

Beautifly is a Bug and Flying-type Pokemon with a relatively high special attack stat. To acquire a Beautifly via evolution, players need to catch a Wurmple, evolve it into a Silcoon at level 7, and then into a Beautifly at level 10. Wurmple also have a separate evolution chain where they evolve into a Cascoon and Dustox, and both chains are entirely random.

Both Beautifly and Wurmple can be found in the Obsidian Fieldlands, but Beautifly itself can be caught in the Cobalt Coastlands if you want to skip the evolution chain.

9 Parasect

Parasect is a Bug and Grass-type classified as a Mushroom species with fairly average stats across the board. Parasect can be acquired by catching and evolving a Paras at level 24. Both Parasect and Paras can be found in the Crimson Mirelands, Coronet Highlands, and the Obsidian Fieldlands.

Catching an already evolved Parasect is possible in Cobalt Coastlands. The Parasects' levels in this area will be in the lower forties, so bringing a leveled-up flying or fire-type Pokemon to combat it may be a smart move.

8 Mothim

Mothim is a Bug and Flying-type Pokemon that is weak against rock-type moves, and they typically have average stats revolving around its overall attack. Mothim evolves from male Burmy found in the shaking trees around the Hisui region at level 20.

Female Burmy, also located in shaking trees around the region, will not evolve into a Mothim but evolve into a Wormadam at the same level. Both Burmy and Mothim can be found in the Obsidian Fieldlands, Cobalt Coastlands, and the Coronet Highlands.

7 Wormadam

Wormadam is a Bug and Grass-type pokemon weak against both Flying and Fire-type moves, and they frequently have a reasonably high Special Defense stat. Wormadam has three different forms of appearance and is found in trees scattered around the Hisui region or by catching the female Burmy and evolving them.

Both Burmy and Wormadam can be found in the Obsidian Fieldlands, Cobalt Coastlands, Alabaster Icelands, and the Coronet Highlands. Levels in each region range from seven to 42 for Burmy and 15 to 62 for Wormadam.

6 Vespiquen

Vespiquen is a Bug and Flying-type Pokemon that is weak against rock-type moves and commonly has reasonably high Defense and Special Defense stats. Vespiquen evolves from female Combee only at level 21, but male Combee do not evolve at all.

Vespiquen itself can only be caught in the Cottonsedge Prairie and Droning meadow of the Crimson Mirelands, but Combee can be found in several places. The Obsidian Fieldlands, Cobalt Coastlands, and the Crimson Mirelands all have habitats for Combee ranging in level from six to 20.

5 Heracross

Heracross is a Bug and Fighting-type Pokemon that is very weak against flying-type moves. They generally have a very high base Attack stat but a fairly low Special Attack stat, yet Heracross does not evolve at all, since mega evolution was not included in Legends: Arceus.

Heracross can be found in several locations in the Hisui region. Players can catch Heracross, ranging from level 20-44, in both the Crimson Mirelands and the Coronet Highlands. However, the Alpha Heracross that can be found at the Grueling Grove location in the Obsidian Fieldlands is level 45 and would make for a great target.

4 Scyther

Scyther is a Bug and Flying-type Pokemon weak against rock-type moves. Scyther leans on their high base Attack and Speed stats to overcome their low Health and Special Attack stats. Scyther has two evolutions, one of which debuted in the Legends: Arceus video game.

Giving a Scyther a Metal Coat evolution item evolves them into Bug and Steel-type Pokemon, Scizor. While giving Scyther the Black Augurite evolution item evolves them into the brand-new Bug and Rock-type Pokemon, Kleavor. Scyther can be caught in the Obsidian Fieldlands and the Alabaster Icelands in Space-time distortions.

3 Scizor

Scizor is a Bug and Steel-type Pokemon that is weak to Fire-type moves but entirely immune to Poison-type moves. Scizor generally has high Attack and Defense stats and evolves from Scyther when given the Steel Coat evolution item.

Scyther can be caught in the Obsidian Fieldlands between levels 13 and 16, but Scizor himself can only be caught in Space-time distortions in the Alabaster Icelands between levels 45 and 53. There isn't an Alpha Scizor, but you can evolve the Alpha Scyther located in the Obsidian Fieldlands at level 42.

2 Kleavor

Kleavor is a Bug and Rock-type pokemon with a high base Attack stat. Surprisingly, they aren't weak against any type of moves. Steel, Rock, and Water-type moves are effective, but no glaring weakness is present. Kleavor evolves from Scyther when given the Black Augurite evolution item.

Kleavor itself cannot be caught in Pokemon: Legends Arceus, but one does play a more significant part in the narrative in the form of a Pokemon Noble. Players will have to catch Scyther located in the Obsidian Fieldlands and the Alabaster Icelands via Space-time Distortions.

1 Yanmega

Yanmega is the strongest Bug Pokemon available in Pokemon Legends: Arceus due to its overall base stats. They are a Bug and Flying-type Pokemon with a high Special Attack stat but a low Special Defense stat. Yanmega evolves from Yanma after the move Ancient Power is learned.

Between levels 18 and 42, both Yanma and Yanmega can be found and caught in the Coronet Highlands. Yanma, and the Alpha Yanmega at level 58, can be caught in the Crimson Mirelands between levels 21 and 30.
