The next PlayStation Now games will be revealed by Sony, but it now seems unlikely to happen during August.

Instead, gamers will be waiting a little longer than usual to find out what is being added to the PS Now library.

Usually, subscribers only have to wait a month before discovering what new PS4 titles will be coming to PS Now.

However, due to the PlayStation Network refresh cycle, gamers will need to wait an extra week before they can start playing September’s new games.

This is based on The Witcher 3 being scheduled for removal on September 6, which is when the next PS Now games are expected to be revealed.

There is a chance that Sony could unveil its plans on several earlier dates, which would break the usual pattern.

So gamers are being advised to keep an eye out for news on one of the following days: August 31, September 3, and September 6.

As noted above, next Monday is the most likely date for PS Now game news to be shared on, but there’s always a chance Sony could spring a surprise before then.

The biggest we know about is that Sony is dropping the Witcher 3 on September 6 and will replace it with a number of other titles.

This will be followed by the departure of Borderlands 3, which is scheduled to leave the PS Now streaming service before the start of October.

The same PlayStation Network refresh rules are also affecting the release of PS Plus free games.

Playstation Now offers ‘hundreds of games on demand’

The announcement of the free PlayStation Plus games are a highlight of the month for subscribers.

Unfortunately, however, fans will have to wait a little longer before the next batch of free PS5 and PS4 games are announced.

New PS Plus games launch on the first Tuesday of any given month. The games are announced the Wednesday before.

Because of the way the dates fall, the September 2021 free PS Plus games won’t be unveiled until September 1.

The next batch of free PS5 and PS4 games will be available to download less than a week later on September 7.
