August looks set to include at least one final PS5 stock drop, with a few surprises also expected.
And PS5 stock news this week includes a big update for those still trying to buy a PlayStation console.
Many gamers have been using stock tracker accounts to keep up to date with the latest restock events in the UK.
And there have already been some major drops, with August featuring restocks from GAME, Scan, Smyths and Currys.
And it looks like Amazon UK will be the next retailer to offer a major shipment for gamers to buy from.
This remains a prediction for now, but it appears that Amazon will have next-gen consoles in stock next week.
This means that Amazon should be offering thousands of PlayStation 5 consoles to buy before September 2021.
No set date has been confirmed by the reliable stock tracker account PS5 Stock UK, but more news could be shared in the next 24-hours.
And Argos is another retailer that is expected to offer PS5 stock over the coming weeks, having already released thousands during August.
However, it should be noted that Argos is not expected to restock during the current month, meaning it will arrive in September.
PS5: Sony unveil pricing for PlayStation 5 console
Argos remains a major supplier of PlayStation consoles and usually uses a regional launch schedule.
This means that stock doesn’t arrive all at once and that an Argos stock drop can last several hours.
Demand remains very high for PS5 consoles in 2021, with retailers unable to keep up with demand.
Next-gen stock usually sells out within hours of being released, leaving many still waiting to buy one.
So far, the company has confirmed selling 10 million units globally, hitting the milestone on July 18.
Knowing when a PS5 restock is happening can be vital, but it’s also worth knowing how each retailer handles its shipments.
And here are a few examples of how best to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:
ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and being unable to complete purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the mobile Argos app and keeping an eye on local store listings.
GAME: GAME is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout, as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase. The next PS5 stock is expected in September.
AMAZON UK: Amazon UK runs better under strain but still comes with a few kinks worth mentioning. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checking out. More stock is expected before the end of August 2021.
More news is expected from leading retailers and stock tracking accounts over the coming week concerning plans for September.
