If you're currently experiencing some technical difficulties with PSN at the moment, you're not the only one. While it seems heavily dependent on where you're based, a large number of people have been complaining on social media about trouble accessing their games. Upon attempting to boot up games on their system, some are being met with warning screens explaining that consoles can't connect to the servers to verify their game's license.
First noted by VGC, some users are also being kicked out of their gaming sessions and are struggling to start the games up again. This issue can usually be resolved by going into your console's system settings and restoring the licenses manually, although those that attempt this are reporting difficulties as well. It's worth noting that there are some people out there who aren't experiencing any issues at all, so you might want to check your own console before canceling any gaming sessions you have planned.
At the time of writing, the PlayStation Network support page does state there is an issue currently ongoing affecting both PS4 and PS5 consoles, and that users may "have difficulty launching games, apps or network features." PlayStation hasn't noted how long it will take for the issue to be resolved, instead explaining that it will be fixed "as soon as possible."
Whatever the case, at least we know that PlayStation is aware of the problem and is doing something about it. It won't be too long before services are restored, but it's probably best to give it an hour or two for PlayStation to sort things out.
