The new Stadia Connect has revealed a host of new games for Google’s streaming service and the promise of EA titles in the future.
Although it’s still far from being the industry-altering service that was initially advertised, Stadia has slowly been getting better over the last few months, with improved streaming quality and a free two-month trial.
What it really needs though is more games, and although there are still no new exclusives the latest Stadia Connect (their equivalent of a Nintendo Direct) reveals some new big-name support in the form of PUBG and EA.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds isn’t quite the force it was, but the daddy of all battle royales is available now for free on Stadia Pro (the subscription service) or otherwise it’s £39.99.

If you have Stadia Pro membership then this link should take you straight to the game and let you start playing instantly, which is one of the missing features advertising when Stadia was first announced. (If you’re not a member it’ll just take you to a website to sign-up for an account).
The other big news is that five EA games will be coming to Stadia in the future, starting with last year’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order this autumn. Madden NFL and FIFA will be after that, but they didn’t say which versions, so it may be the new 2021 editions.
The other two games weren’t even hinted at, so they may be something new EA has planned for next year.
Also new today is Square Enix’s initially Nintendo Switch exclusive Ocopath Traveler, with Zombie Army 4 coming on Friday and Rock Of Ages 3 in June.
Everything else was just indie games, with Crayta, Get Packed, Wave Break, and Embr all being ‘first on Stadia’. Crayta will also be free with Stadia Pro this summer.
The Connect is only a brief 16 minutes so it’s worth watching it all, if you can avoid the cringe of all the players saying how great Stadia is.
