Scarlet Nexus And Tales Of Arise Crossover In New DLC

Bandai Namco has announced a crossover between two of its biggest titles; Tales of Arise and Scarlet Nexus. This crossover will take the form of some DLC content for each title. However, the DLC will not be adding any storyline elements or characters to the games. Instead, it will take the form of some weapons and cosmetic accessories.

Unlike Tales of Arise’s previous crossover with Sword Art Online, this DLC is just adding a cosmetic item and a new weapon. Players can obtain a new sword for Alphen that resembles the Myoho Muramasa that Yuito wields in Scarlet Nexus. As for the cosmetic item, it is a rather ridiculous-looking accessory attached to a character’s head called Baki-chan. Whether the accessory adds an attribute or ability to the character is unknown.

Meanwhile, over in Scarlet Nexus, players can equip Alphen’s Blazing Blade as a weapon for Yuito. Plus, Alphen’s broken iron mask can be equipped for multiple party members as a cosmetic item. While the Tales of Arise DLC is set to be a free add-on, it is unclear if the same is true for the Scarlet Nexus version.

Tales of Arise launched last year and came out swinging. The RPG had the biggest opening weekend on Steam for any entry in the Tales series. It also sold over a million copies in its first week. However, beyond a couple of DLCs that were met with criticisms from fans, content for the game has been fairly sparse. Still, it remains one of the best RPGs available today.

Similarly, Scarlet Nexus debuted last year and captured the attention of many players. The stylish adventure game plays out like a Saturday night anime with Devil May Cry-like gameplay. Bandai Namco kept the game up-to-date with several DLC packs. The most recent, the paid Brain Eater DLC pack, was released earlier this year. The game also received a free update that added several new features, like photo mode, to the title.

No release date has been offered for this upcoming Tales of Arise and Scarlet Nexus collaboration. Hopefully, Bandai Namco doesn’t leave us in suspense too long.
