Fans of FMV games can look forward to a brand new game from the developers of The Shapeshifting Detective later this month. Dark Nights With Poe and Munro will serve as a prequel to The Shapeshifting Detective and will see the return of Klemens Koehring and Leah Cunard as the titular Poe and Munro.
Dark Nights has a unique episodic format that segments the game into six individual stories. Each episode will feature local radio hosts John ‘Poe’ Pope and Ellis Munro investigating supernatural occurrences in their small town. The trailer is largely spoiler-free and light on the supernatural elements, but it does hint at some of the game’s interpersonal drama and surreal moments.
D’Avekki Studios has the previous FMV titles under their belt: The Infectious Madness of Dr. Dekker in 2017 and 2018’s The Shapeshifting Detective, which took place in the same small town as Dark Nights and introduced both Poe and Munro.
The husband-and-wife firm D’Avekki Studios says Dark Nights is their biggest budget FMV game yet and features nearly five hours of video and highly replayable episodes. Dark Nights With Poe and Munro will be available on Steam May 19th, 2020 for $12.99 USD. If you haven’t played The Shapeshifting Detective it’s one of the most highly acclaimed modern FMV games is is also available on Steam for $12.99 USD.
