Streamer Tells Kids To Steal Their Parents’ Credit Card And Give Him A Sub

Streamers may rely on subscriptions to turn their hobby into a living, but aggressively demanding for an audience to steal their parents’ credit cards is a bit much.

It often feels as if the business of watching others play video games has become a bigger deal than actually playing them. Streaming is huge right now and the industry continues to grow, especially since millions of people are stuck at home looking for new things to watch. What’s better than to check out competitive gaming when all other sports are indefinitely on hold?

As for those behind the streams, while some do it for nothing more than fun, there are many who have carved out a decent, full-time career for themselves. The undertaking does rely on viewers giving them money though, and that comes naturally, providing their viewers like what they’re seeing.

Most streamers rely on the content they produce to be good enough for viewers and fans to voluntarily pay them with subs. Not FrostyMatrixTV. While streaming Deadside this week, the streamer decided to discuss a different tactic. Picking up on the fact that there were likely a lot of younger viewers in his audience, he told them to steal their parents’ credit cards and use them to give him money. Be warned, the clip below contains offensive language.

“Go get your daddy’s credit card, or mother’s, steal it. Not steal it, just sneak it behind their backs and hit subscribe. No, I’m not joking,” Frosty said during the clip above. It doesn’t help that even though he’s making a plea for subs from all his viewers (before telling people to borrow their parents’ credit cards) – he adds the caveat “especially kids.”

Twitch is certainly no stranger when it comes to controversy. Everything from animal abuse to racially charged comments has made multiple appearances on the streaming platform. The trouble is, Twitch is so popular and since its content happens live, it’s almost impossible to police. Beyond banning those responsible after the fact, there’s no way to stop people from saying what they like during a stream until after it has happened. Hopefully Frosty’s younger viewers know better in this case.
