As you explore the Airborne Archipelago in Temtem, you may come across inaccessible areas that require special tools to traverse. You'll need to come back to these areas after finding the proper tool for the job, like the Crystal Skates.

The Crystal Skates key item allows you to control your movement over crystal terrain, rather than sliding uncontrollably across. The Crystal Skates are essential for accessing areas like the Aguamarina Caves and certain treasure chests hidden across the islands. Now, let's take a look at how to get the Crystal Skates.

Where To Find The Crystal Skates

To obtain the Crystal Skates, you will need to progress through Omninesia main quest, 'Adventure in the Myrisles'. Carlos will give you the Skates after you battle your way through the Great Banyan. After obtaining them, the Crystal Skates can be used to access Anak Volcano, as well as several areas you may have passed by earlier on the island, and on the first island, Deniz.

If you want items or Temtem found in areas unlocked by using the Skates, then now is the time to explore them, as you will soon lose access to the Skates until much later in the main story.

How To Get The Crystal Skates Back

After completing your business on Omninesia and attempting to fly to Kisawa, your airship is attacked, and you crash land on Tucma. At this point, you will lose access to most of your equipment, like the Surfboard and map. Eventually, you will gain these items back, but not the Crystal Skates.

To get the Skates back, you will actually need to progress through Tucma, the next island, Kisawa, and part of the fifth island, Cipanku. After reaching Cipanku, defeating Dr. Sasaya in the Neoedo Dojo, and finally traveling to Onsenshima to find Carlos, you will be able to get the Crystal Skates back.

Due to how long it takes to get the Skates back after losing them, be sure to explore areas like the Aguamarina Caves before traveling to Tucma, especially if you want to tame Temtem like Oceara.
