The Ascent Is Coming To PlayStation March 24

Neon Giant has announced that its cyberpunk shooter, The Ascent, will be making its way to PlayStation consoles next month. The popular RPG has been exclusive to Xbox consoles and PC ever since launching last July. That’s all changing as PS4 and PS5 holders will be able to enjoy The Ascent in all of its chaotic sci-fi glory on March 24.

The studio shared the good news throughout social media this week. Alongside the announcement, it also debuted a brand-new launch trailer to show off what PlayStation players can expect from The Ascent.

Many suspected this move would be happening sooner rather than later. Last month, a new rating for the game was found on the ESRB website which fueled speculation that PlayStation consoles would soon be enjoying the sci-fi goodness the game has to offer.

Arcade Berg, the Co-founder and Creative Director for Neon Giant shared how excited he was to finally bring the title to PlayStation owners: “We’ve been blown away by how amazing the response to The Ascent has been so far on Xbox and PC, so we are thrilled to be bringing the game to a new audience of PlayStation players”. He went on to add that The Ascent was created because the studio “loved making games”, so naturally they want to share it with as many players as possible. For now, there is no crossplay co-op support for players on other platforms.

Along with the news of the PlayStation version of the game, Neon Giant announced a brand-new content update. The Cyber Warrior DLC Pack is now available and includes two new weapons, one new tactical, seven pieces of armor, and three new weapon skins. While the pack will cost players $4.99, a New Game Plus mode is being added to the action shooter at no extra charge. Players will just need to complete Mission 12 to unlock it. This new mode offers more resilient enemies that have new abilities, as well as increased upgrade levels for players and weapons.

The Ascent is currently available for preorder on PS4 and PS5.
