The developer behind the popular Silent Hill series, Konami, will be revealing the latest updates about the franchise on October 19, 2022. The most recent entry in the franchise remains the incredibly enigmatic PT. Players have been hungry for more content ever since the game was released on August 12, 2014.
“In your restless dreams, do you see that town? The latest updates for the Silent Hill series will be revealed during the Silent Hill Transmission on Wednesday,” the official Twitter account for Silent Hill posted to the social media platform, asking fans of the franchise to tune in on October 19 at 2:00 PM PDT.
The announcement of course comes right in time for Halloween. Several companies including Activision Blizzard have already revealed their celebration plans, the company releasing themed skins for the recently released Overwatch 2. The first Halloween event in the game will apparently feature the character Kiriko and a new player-versus-environment mode.
While rumors have been making the rounds to the effect that more Silent Hill games are currently in the works, the director behind the eponymous film released back in 2006 recently confirmed that “several games” are in development at Konami. “I'm working with the Silent Hill team, the original creators at Konami,” the director in question, Christophe Gans, remarked. “There are several games in development as we speak, there are several teams on it, with a big line of games.”
Gans later explained how “they will revive the franchise,” adding that “I think they were really impressed by the success of the remakes of Resident Evil that are evidently exceptional games.”
