Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 has proven to be the perfect return to the glory days of Tony Hawk games. A tasteful palate cleanser to help us forget Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, the remake of the classic entries has been a blast to play.
Yet some have taken a deeper dive to find cameos and easter eggs in the remake, and there are some details in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 that hint at the game’s future. In one case, there is a detail in the secret final level that may hint at possible DLC. Spoiler warning for those of you that do not want to see the last level because you somehow missed it years ago.
Potential Sequel or New DLC?
There is a thread on ResetEra discussing some of the assets used in the Skater Heaven level that are noticeably different than other levels. User sn00zer points out that there are evergreen trees and assets that do not appear anywhere else in the remake but draw a striking resemblance to some of the assets in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3. Sn00zer compared the assets to the Canada level in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3, and while this could be wild speculation, what gives the theory some credence is that these assets are only in the Skater Heaven level. The assets in question could be coincidental and just used for decoration, but why not use assets from previous levels and instead make entirely new ones?
The likelihood of Pro Skater 3 levels coming to the remake as DLC is not out of the question. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 has been a success in terms of sales and reviews, so teasing content in the secret level feels appropriate. Especially considering the work you need to do to unlock Skater Heaven. We do need to keep in mind that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 was promised not to have microtransactions at launch. However, the possibility for DLC after the game’s initial launch was not ruled out of the question. Hopefully, in the coming months, we see a reveal of new levels, and learn that they’re free.
