Transformers: Reactivate Announced At The Game Awards

A new Transformers game was just announced at The Game Awards, Transformers: Reactivate. The cinematic trailer revealed what looked like a world-ending catastrophe, with massive alien ships destroying a city as people desperately tried to flee and fight back.

Reactivate is coming from Splash Damage, a British video game developer responsible for Brink and Dirty Bomb, and the multiplayer for popular games such as Gears 5 and Batman: Arkham Origins. Given the studio's history, it;'s safe to bet this will be a multiplayer title.

Also shown in the trailer was what looked to be Bumblebee's POV. A group of soldiers reactivated (geddit?) him, and we see him stand, towering over the people and looking down at his yellow wrist plates.

There's no launch date or even a mention of what platforms Transformers: Reactivate will be coming to, but you can sign up for updates at playtfr.com.

In other TGA news, Christopher Judge won Best Performance for his portrayal of Kratos in God of War Ragnarok. He beat colleague Sunny Suljic, A Plague Tale: Requiem's Charlotte McBurney, Horizon Forbidden West's Ashly Burch, and Immortality's Manon Gage. Stray picked up the award for Best Debut Indie, and TheGamer editor favorite Marvel Snap won Best Mobile Game.

We've also seen a host of new video games announced. The new game from BioShock director Ken Levine has been announced, and it looks an awful lot like BioShock. No surprises there then. It's called Judas, and it's a first-person shooter with a retro-futuristic art style.

Hades 2 was revealed too, marking the first-ever sequel from SUpeergiant Games. It features a new roster of gods, as well as a new playable character. She's got Zagreus' iconic Heterochromia, so chances are she's the daughter of the Prince of the Underworld.

Perhaps the biggest reveal of all was Death Stranding 2, starring Lea Seydoux and Norman Reedus. of course, Reedus had already let slip the game was in development earlier this year, but it's nice to finally have it confirmed.
