Twitch Prime has become Prime Gaming with 23 free games

Amazon is rebranding Twitch Prime and are offering free in-game content for games such as GTA Online, Apex Legends, and FIFA 20 to celebrate.

Twitch Prime is no more and will instead now be known as Prime Gaming, to get it more in line with Amazon’s music and video offerings. But to try and prove that change is a good thing Amazon is promising a host of freebies for members.

Much like Epic Game Store, Prime Gaming will offer a selection of new PC game free each month. 23 different games are promised for this month, although 14 of them are retro SNK games.

That’s no bad thing though, especially as there are also a number of other interesting indie titles too, including Blazing Chrome, Warsaw, Trüberbrook, Dead In Vinland, and Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn.

Amazon is also keen to point a range of exclusive free in-game content for major games including GTA Online, Red Dead Online, Apex Legends, FIFA 20, Destiny 2, League of Legends, Doom Eternal, and more.

The in-game content includes exclusive skins for Apex Legends, a Player Pick Pack for FIFA 20, exotic weapons for Destiny 2, and the promise of brand-new items for Roblox later this month.

Prime Gaming comes as part of the standard Prime membership, which already including Prime Video, so if you’re a member already you can claim your freebies here or sign up for a 30-day trial.

Twitch Prime started in 2006 and despite this name change remains largely the same concept as always, just with more free stuff, including the existing monthly Twitch channel subscription.

For anyone worried, there’s no suggestion that the Twitch name will ever go away, especially as with the collapse of Mixer it now has even less competition than before.
