Twitch To Highlight Women Who "Make Twitch What It Is" For Women’s History Month

March is Women's History Month, and Twitch is celebrating all month long by highlighting the women creators "who make Twitch what it is."

Twitch has already started the celebration by featuring several female creators on Twitter, but the party kicks into high gear on International Women's Day, which arrives on March 8. On International Women's Day, Twitch will be retweeting as many women creators its Twitter followers nominate using the #ItsNotTwitchWithout hashtag. All you need to do is include the creator's Twitter handle and "a few kind words about their amazing, inspirational channel."

Twitch is also hosting events and livestreams all month long. On March 26 and 27, Games Done Quick's all-women speedrunning community, The Frame Fatales, will be celebrating women in gaming with their Game of the Month Mini Marathon. Normally, the Frame Fatales speedruns a new game at the end of each month, but this time they're going to be recapping each game they've speedrun throughout the past year.

Additionally, Twitch Women's Alliance (TWA) will have each one of its members included on Twitch's front page under the Women's History Month shelf. Software engineer Fiercekittenz will be hosting her own Women In Tech talk where she'll discuss programming her own Twitch bot, which takes place on March 7. Women in the Game Industry will bring BreadWitchery, BBXH, Smexi, katiepeircee, leilafoxnation, HappyKrakenX, and j0toro together in a live Q&A session on March 16 at 9 AM PT. And The Lass Project March Marathon will run from March 24 to 28, bringing over 30 women and non-binary creators from the Pokemon community together in a fundraiser for the American Heart Association.

There's a lot more going on for Women's History Month on Twitch, so head to Twitch's blog for the full list of livestreams and events.
