Call of Duty fans are counting down to the launch of Warzone Season 5. Call of Duty Warzone Season 5 has an August 2 release date on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. Players will be able to jump in and enjoy the new content at 5pm BST UK time. Needless to say, the season launches alongside a massive new update, which will need to be downloaded and installed before you can start playing. Express Online will update this story with patch notes once the download goes live.
In terms of new content, the highlight of Warzone Season 5 is the launch of the Vondel Champions Quest.
Releasing at some point in the Season 5 launch window, the Vondel Champions Quest will be available to squads on a five match winning streak within Mini Battle Royale.
Similar to the Al Mazrah quest, squads will once again be tasked with building the M.G.B, albeit with a few key differences.
Activision explains more: “First, all elements must be held and never dropped (a prerequisite that also now applies to any Champion’s Quest you undertake).
“That means an element can’t be dropped in the water and saved for the end. If an element is dropped, it must be recaptured to continue the quest.”
Fans will also need to capture three new elements as part of the quest, including Gallium, which reveals all nearby team members who held it previously. That’s on top of Deuterium, which fatigues any Operator; and Neptunium, which periodically electrocutes all nearby Operators.
Elsewhere, new vehicles will appear in Battle Royale and DMZ, while details for the Call of Duty 2023 reveal event will also be unveiled.
Then there’s the Season 5 Battle Pass, which once again contains a mixture of free items and Premium BlackCell rewards.
The headline reward is a brand new Operator named Arthur, who joins the game alongside a canine companion called Merlin.
The BlackCell Battle Pass also contains the Tracer weapon blueprint, the new taking gun screen, 1,100 Call of Duty Points, vehicle skins and lots more.
