You'll Probably Never Play The New Earthworm Jim Game: Here's Why

It’s been two or so decades since Earthworm Jim has seen a console release. In celebration of its anniversary, Intellivision Entertainment has announced that the anthropomorphic earthworm is getting a brand new game for the Intellivision Amico. In fact, the game is going to be an exclusive to the platform. Fans interested in Jim’s next adventure will need to get an Intellivision Amico.

The news comes via a tweet from Intellivision’s CEO, Tommy Tallarico, who was also the original composer and sound designer for Earthworm Jim 1 & 2. He confirmed that the original Earthworm Jim team have come together to develop a brand new Earthworm Jim game. In the interim, Tallarico co-hosted the game review show Judgment Day with Victor Lucas and founded the concert tour Video Games Live.

The game will be exclusive to the Intellivision Amico, a new console created as a reboot of the brand. It was initially due out for release in October but has been delayed to April 2021 as a result of the pandemic.

The team’s first game design meeting will be simulcast on Sunday, May 4 at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET on Facebook, Twitch, and YouTube. There, 10 of the original programmers, artists, audio team, and level designers will be answering questions, drawing art, and giving away 50 brand new signed and numbered posters as live chat prizes.
