Nintendo has announced that a new series of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Amiibo figures are launching next year. The set–which includes Banjo & Kazooie, Byleth, and Terry–is slated to drop in Fall 2021.
The company has not specified how many figures will be produced in this set. Additionally, prices for each figure have not been disclosed. However, Amiibo figures typically retail for anywhere between $10 USD for a single and $30 for a three-pack. Most individual Amiibo, including newer Smash Bros. figurines, cost $16, so these will presumably be the same price.
Banjo & Kazooie, Byleth, and Terry are part of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Fighter Pass 1 and the latest DLC characters to receive figures. The full pack includes Person 5’s Joker, Dragon Quest’s Hero, and the aforementioned three characters from Banjo-Kazooie, Fatal Fury, and Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Both Joker and Hero already have Amiibos, meaning the full Figher Pass 1 figurine set will be complete next year. Fighter Pass 1 retails for $25.
According to IGN, game director Masahiro Sakurai said the team was only able to produce Amiibo figures for Players 1 Byleth. The female figurine of Byleth is not planned.
Additional characters for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are still on the way with the Fighter Pass 2. So far, Nintendo has released Min Min from Arms and revealed Steve from Minecraft. Fighter Pass 2, which contains six characters instead of Fighter Pass 1’s five, retails for $30. Steve drops on October 13.
