Tuesday, March 10 is Mario Day, a made-up holiday celebrating everyone’s favorite mustachioed plumber. (Why March 10? Because MAR10.) In recent years, Nintendo has marked the occasion with deals on games featuring Mario himself.
In addition to Target, which announced its Mario Day deals in its weekly ad, Amazon, Walmart, GameStop, and Best Buy are all matching Nintendo’s discounts on Super Mario Maker 2, Super Mario Party, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, and Yoshi’s Crafted World. All four games are on sale for $39.99, which is $20 off retail price.
A few retailers are throwing in extra deals on Switch peripherals and other goodies. Target is offering a free Joy-Con wheel with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and offering 20% off Nintendo plush toys, PowerA’s wired GameCube-style controller, and a Nintendo Switch deluxe travel case. And GameStop and Best Buy are discounting a whole host of Nintendo accessories and collectibles.
Walmart, though, is the only retailer to offer a Mario Day deal on the Switch itself. In addition to 20% off PowerA’s wireless Switch controllers and cases, the retailer is offering a bundle with a Nintendo Switch and a Mario-themed PowerA wired controller for $298.99.
Mario Day sales are running between March 8 through March 14, with the exception of Best Buy, which runs from March 9 through March 15. These games should tide you over until Animal Crossing: New Horizons comes out on March 20.
