Pokémon Sword and Shield expansion news coming June 2

More information surrounding the Pokémon: Sword and Shield expansions, The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra, will be revealed on June 2 at 9 a.m. EDT.

We haven’t heard much about the expansions since they were initially announced, revealing new Legendary Pokémon, as well as new Galarian Pokémon forms. Over 100 Pokémon that weren’t included in the Galar region Pokédex will also be added to the game in each update. This won’t give a National Pokédex to the Galar region, but this should bring the total of included Pokémon to at least 600 — which is around 300 creatures off from being complete.

While we can’t confirm what will be in tomorrow’s reveal, we can likely expect information on some of the mysterious Pokémon we saw in the initial trailers, such as the Articuno-like Pokémon shooting lasers from its eyes, or the Regi-like Pokémon with dragon heads for arms.

The Isle of Armor expansion was originally slated to release at the end of June 2020, but it’s unknown if this date will be pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Crown Tundra expansion is slated for release in fall 2020. Both expansions come in a pack for $29.99.

Nintendo Switch Pro Controller

“If you’re positive that you’ll be spending a majority of your time playing the Switch at home, connected to a television, then you should seriously consider investing in the Switch’s Pro Controller.” —Polygon’s Nintendo Switch review
