[Last Chance] Destiny 2: Where Is Xur This Weekend? Location / Exotic Items Guide (July 31-Aug. 4)

Moments of Triumph are well underway at this point in Destiny 2, and we’ll soon see the start of the summer’s Solstice of Heroes event. As always, it’s a good time to stock up on Exotics you’re missing from your collection by visiting Xur. Here’s where you can find him and what Exotics Xur is selling this week.

Head to the EDZ to find Xur this week, in the Winding Cove area. For his weapon, Xur is offering Telesto. Hunters can pick up the Aeon Swift gauntlets; for Titans, there’s the Lion Rampant leg armor; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Ophidian Aspect gauntlets.

Xur Location

Spawn in at the Winding Cove transmat zone and hop on your sparrow heading north. You’ll need to climb the cliff face on the northern side of the area; look for a convenient cave that will provide a path to the top. Xur is standing beside a crashed Fallen dropship overlooking the area.

Xur Exotic Items

This week, Xur has offers Telesto, a PvP favorite Exotic fusion rifle that’s always devastating against Guardians. It also is a gun whose Catalyst comes from older raids on the Leviathan, so now is a great time to snag it and get it Masterworked. If you’re not a fan of the other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don’t already own. He also has the Five of Swords challenge card, which lets you enable modifiers for Nightfall Strikes.

  • Exotic Engram — 97 legendary shards
  • Telesto — 29 legendary shards
  • Aeon Swift — 23 legendary shards
  • Lion Rampant — 23 legendary shards
  • Ophidian Aspect — 23 legendary shards
  • Five of Swords — free

Telesto (Fusion Rifle)

Telesto fires fast and hits hard, making it great for dispatching opponents in the Crucible. It’s an old standby you’ll often see in use in a variety of matches, because its fusion projectiles actually attach to surfaces (or people) and explode a second later. That means you don’t always need to hit who you’re aiming at to kill them; Telesto shots can explode on walls and floors, or even other players, to do damage to Guardians. If you don’t have this one, you really should add it to your collection.

Aeon Swift (Hunter)

The Aeon Cult Exotics are at their best when you use them in conjunction with teammates, but you can get the benefits of this Exotic alone as well. Using your dodge class ability with the Aeon Swift gauntlets on gives grenade energy to nearby Warlock allies, melee energy to your Titan friends, and dodge energy to Hunters. Everyone gets even bigger bonuses with Aeon Exotics equipped as well, so it pays to outfit your team in matching gear.

Lion Rampant (Titan)

Titans who like to fight while flying should check out Lion Rampant. The Exotic leg armor makes you more maneuverable in the air and gives you accurate fire from the hip when you’re using your Lift ability. Especially in the Crucible, if you like to stay airborne, Lion Rampant can make you pretty deadly.

For Warlocks, Ophidian is one of those good workhorse Exotics that’s useful in all situations when you don’t need something specific. It speeds up your weapon reload and ready speed significantly, while also extending your melee range–things that are great no matter what activity you’re in.
