Dirt 5 is coming to a variety of platforms, including Xbox Series X, and is supporting Microsoft’s cross-generational program Smart Delivery. The game was revealed on the Inside Xbox stream, but it was an interview later in the program that revealed an extensive new career mode featuring a pair of big-name voice actors.
Both Nolan North (Drake in Uncharted) and Troy Baker (Joel in The Last of Us) will be voicing your mentors in the mode, giving you advice on sponsorship deals, racing strategies, and more. The career mode is billed as a story-driven campaign, with a narrative that takes shape based on choices you make in-between races. Those races will be set in locations all around the globe, complete with a day/night cycle and various weather effects.
Dirt 5 will support Smart Delivery, which means you’ll be able to purchase the game once and play it across both Xbox One and Xbox Series X. On the Series X though you’ll have the option of 4-player split-screen play, as well as the ability to toggle between 4K/60FPS or 120FPS gameplay.
Dirt 5 was just one of many new games revealed during the Inside Xbox stream today. However, Dirt 5 is actually a multiplatform game that will also be coming to PC, PS4, PS5, and Stadia. Exactly release dates were not announced; we only know it will initially launch for some platforms in October 2020, while the Stadia version will wait for 2021.
