Ubisoft hosted an all-day stream that ultimately revealed the setting of the next Assassin’s Creed game. The setting was shown via a unique piece of artwork produced by BossLogic, an acclaimed artist known for his awesome Street Fighter pieces and, more recently, his collaborations with Marvel and DC. The final reveal was the official title, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, confirming earlier rumors of a Viking setting. It was all streamed in anticipation of a pre-rendered cinematic trailer for the game, as well as a ton of news on the game’s new systems and storylines.
The stream appeared to be leaning that direction long before the title was revealed though, as the artwork showed an icy sea, a central figure dressed in furs with and brandishing an axe, and prominent placement for a raven. The first trailer arrived today, April 30, and we learned more about the game’s setting, story, protagonists, and how it connects to the rest of the series. There are several different editions of the game and it’s coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.
