It’s coming up to Halloween season and rightly so, developers are starting to roll out their scary titles. Today, Bloober Team – the studio behind Layers of Fear – has announced it’ll launch Blair Witch: Oculus Quest Edition before the end of the month.
Bloober Team and Lionsgate released Blair Witch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox in 2019, which this new version is based around, but built specifically for virtual reality (VR) and the Oculus Quest platform. The psychological horror will still feature canine companion, Bullet, providing new ways to interact with your sidekick.
The redesign is geared around interactivity to further immerse players in the terrifying gameplay. Catch, throw, and stack objects found throughout the woods, draw on paper and other objects to map out theories; drawers, doors and gates are all interactive, you can even snap branches with your hands – great for playing fetch.
Alongside all of this there’s a new control scheme plus you’ll have new creature encounters as you explore the mysterious forest.
Blair Witch: Oculus Quest Edition will be available on the standalone platform from 29th October 2020, retailing for $29.99 USD. With the Oculus Quest 2 about to launch, the videogame supports the hardware’s higher resolution and high-quality textures.
Blobber Team also confirms Blair Witch will be coming to further VR platforms in the near future. For further updates from the studio, keep reading VRFocus.
