Tribe XR has been at the forefront of virtual reality (VR) and music, enabling both beginners and experts to DJ in VR and stream it to the world. Today, the app is taking a step further thanks to a new partnership with AlphaTheta Corporation, bringing the world-renown Pioneer DJ brand into Tribe XR.
For the first time, Tribe XR users will be able to practice and create sets on the flagship Pioneer DJ CDJ-3000 professional multi-player and DJM-900NXS2 professional mixer, both accurately recreated to the finest detail. All adding to that extra flair of professionalism when streaming sets live to platforms including Facebook Live, Twitch and YouTube.
While the core Tribe XR software for Oculus Quest and PC VR headsets has all the features you need to get started, as seems to becoming the norm in VR, Tribe XR also offers a subscription service. For an additional monthly charge of $4.99 USD / £3.99 GBP / €4.99 EUR, you’ll gain access to additional content. This includes 4 CDJ-3000 decks instead of the standard 2 (for those Techno pros out there), equipment skins with funky designs, live video workshops with resident DJ mentors, and 3D on-demand lessons. These courses are great for aspiring DJs, with pre-recorded classes covering the basics of mixing as well as live group lessons to learn more in depth skills.
“Tribe XR is the leading VR DJ school and performance platform globally. Our goal is to turn aspiring DJs into performing DJs,” said Tribe XR CEO and co-founder, Tom Impallomeni in a statement. “We are delighted that our community can now learn and perform with the CDJ-3000 and DJM-900NXS2, in virtual reality, no matter where they are. We hope this will inspire home DJs around the world to become professionals and global stars.”
“Pioneer DJ has long been the market-leading hardware and software brand in the DJ industry. Today, we’re delighted to announce our first step into virtual reality via this partnership with Tribe XR,” Mark Grotefeld, AlphaTheta Corporation adds. “We’re thrilled to be working with Tribe XR to harness VR technology to enable the next generation of DJs to take their first steps in learning the art of mixing, as well as enabling home DJs and professionals to practice, play, and perform on authentic versions of Pioneer DJ products in a virtual environment.”
Tribe XR is available over on Steam and Oculus Stores. For further updates on the app, keep reading VRFocus.
