Tech startup 1v1Me announced that it has raised a $2M USD pre-seed financing round to launch its online gaming wagering platform. Investors that participated in the investment include On Deck, AngelList Access Fund, Sterling.VC, Lightshed Ventures, BettorCapital, Erik Torenberg, Turner Novak, Niv Dror, Ali Hamed, Cody and Cole Hock, Anthony Pompliano, Hannah “NoisyButters” Bryan, Justin Waldron, Austin Rief, Trevor McFedries, Julie Young, Ian Borthwick, Albert Cheng, and Stephen Sikes.
The startup was founded last year by Anthony Geranio and Alexander Emmanuel, who met working at Skillshare, inspired by their friends playing video games for money using a whiteboard for stats and leaderboard tracking during the COVID-19 pandemic. The 1v1Me app, which holds no transaction fees for gamers who choose to play for money, launched on Monday.
