Another loss for Fnatic as BOOM Esports take the lead at ESL One Birmingham Online: SEA

Today at ESL One Birmingham Online: Southeast Asia we would
see a magnificent opening series between Fnatic and BOOM Esports as the event
entered its third day of round-robin group stage action.

Fnatic, although having seemed extremely strong in recent
events, did not begin the ESL One Birmingham SEA event in the best manner,
losing their opening series to Team Adroit and having a tough time against
Reality Rift too – although winning the latter series. On the other hand, BOOM was
dominating at the event this far, sitting at the top of the group with two
massive wins over Geek Fam and TNC Predator.

Going into the series it was Fnatic who were on the front
foot, amassing a decent lead of nearly 10k on the net worth graphs, as they
looked set to take the win. It was only near 22-minutes when everything changed
as the teams entered a fight around the Roshan pit which saw BOOM come out
ahead – and it was all downhill from there for FNC.

Fnatic were not about to give up though as they pushed back
hard in the next game, essentially stomping over the BOOM lineup – with Nuengnara
‘23savage’ Teeramahanon destroying his opponents on a 17-1-9 Morphling. With
the series now tied up at 1-1, game three would be required to separate the two
squads – and it was another clinical performance from BOOM. Although it took
BOOM over 10-minutes to find their first kill, while FNC were eight at the
time, once they did, there was no stopping them.

Between Randy ‘Dreamocel’ Sapoetra’s Riki and a fairly weak
FNC draft, BOOM were able to run away with the game and secure a 2-1 victory to
secure their spot at the top of the group for the time being. ESL One Birmingham
Online: SEA continues today with Geek Fam and TNC Predator fighting in the next
series and Team Adroit looking to join BOOM atop the group again when then take
on Reality Rift later too.
