HyperX has announced that the company will sponsor the USL eCup: Rocket League Division tournament set to take place from April 10-25. Forty-Eight teams will start the tournament in the group stage in which 16 teams make it to the knockout stage to eventually crown a champion.
As part of the partnership, HyperX is equipping each of the 32 captains that represent from the USL Championship and USL League One with Cloud Alpha S gaming headsets.
HyperX will partner with the league in advertising activations during both the group and knockout stages as well. Other activations include USL including HyperX in social posts and outreach during the span of the tournament.
Desk hosts and commentators will give HyperX air-time during streams with shout outs during the event. In terms of product placement, the scoreboard will include a HyperX clock wrap and other visuals during gameplay.
The tournament will be held online and can be watched across the U.S. on ESPN digital platforms.
According to the release, the tournament was invented to create an online competition while live on-field matches are postponed or canceled due to the precautions being taken because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
