Is Dashy to Chicago Huntsmen inevitable after recent moves in the CDL?

The Call of Duty League is currently undergoing some massive roster shifts. Nearly every organization has made some kind of a move since the end of the 2020 season. The only teams who haven’t budged yet are the Florida Mutineers and Atlanta FaZe. However, at least one move will need to be made for both squads as the CDL shifts to 4v4. Two squads that have made changes though are the Chicago Huntsmen and OpTic Gaming L.A. Chicago released the Sanderson twins, leaving one roster spot open, and OpTic released Brandon “Dashy” Otell. Could these moves end up being correlated?

Chicago Huntsmen and Dashy a match made in heaven?

Before Rostermania in the Call of Duty League even began, there were rumors of Dashy going to Chicago. It was expected that the Huntsmen would release both of the Sanderson twins, as they likely want to keep playing on the same squad. This exact move happened earlier today and in turn, leaves one starting spot open on the Huntsmen.

It was also expected that Dashy would be leaving OpTic Gaming. After riding the bench for the second half of the 2020 season, Dashy was primed to seek other opportunities in the CDL. With both of these moves now official, Dashy and Chicago seem almost too good to be true.

The history backs up this rumor. Dashy played with Seth “Scump” Abner during the Black Ops 4 season and made quite the duo. It’s no secret the two have also remained good friends even after being on separate teams in 2020. With a Flex/AR role now open on Chicago, many are speculating Dashy’s previous relationship with Scump and Huntsmen CEO Hector “H3CZ” Rodriguez could result in a reunion.

With the CDL moving to 4v4, teams need to be as competitive as possible while also filling certain roles. There are very few assault rifle players as talented as Dashy and he even showed talent as a Flex player last season. A squad of Scump, FormaL, Dashy, and Dylan “Envoy” Hannon would be insanely difficult to stop, which makes this possibility even more enticing. The big question now is are the two sides really working towards a deal? Time will tell.
